UI Engineer

Title: UI Engineer

Location: Dallas, TX

Job Description: The UI Engineer is responsible for design, development, and maintenance of User Interface to support the TickerTags platform. You will improve our analytics-focused user interface by adding new features and fixing defects, taking direction from the suggestions of internal and external users and the development team. You will update and maintain the internal management console by building new tools and forms to streamline research reporting and data generation from our platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Quickly improve our platform by fulfilling feature requests and fixing bugs reported by internal and external users, tracked on Git Issues and Pivotal Tracker
  • Coordinate with team members and contribute in project planning discussions to help shape the long-term improvements of the TickerTags analytics UI and management console
  • Produce code that is easy to read, commented where needed, and can easily be understood
  • Work with engineers and data scientists to create and support data intensive web applications
  • Proactive and willing to learn and adapt new patterns and practices and technologies
  • Be willing to learn new technologies and help keep up to date with tools and libraries
  • Knowledge and experience with automated testing frameworks for AngularJS is a bonus

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of software engineering experience as a full-time UI Engineer
  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience
  • Thorough understanding of developing frontend applications using AngularJS, npm, and Gulp, along with other libraries and build automation tools
  • The ability to use CSS, JavaScript and HTML5 to create a fully functioning user experience
  • Knowledge and experience working with REST APIs
  • Understanding of the separation of front end application responsibilities versus those of the server-side API and database(s)
  • Familiarity with open source libraries that aid in frontend development
  • Object-oriented development techniques
  • Experience with GIT or another source code repository
  • Any knowledge of server-side dynamic languages, REST development or relational database design is a plus
