QUANTITATIVE ASSOCIATE
The position will involve leveraging superior analytic skills to support and expand our coverage universe and improve our existing models within our high profile research team. Typical projects will involve mining multiple large-scale datasets and building statistical models to forecast company and sector specific metrics and macroeconomic indicators. Position will also involve fundamental analysis and collaborating with the analysts and/or clients to identify their needs in order to create new business opportunities.
KEY FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain current, and identify new analytical opportunities for investment research or market research, performing analysis and developing data-driven reports.
Development and deployment of statistical models for estimation and prediction of corporate performance
Performing ad hoc analyses in response to client requests
Support the sales process by developing analyses for sales pitches
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Technical degree from a top university with a consistent record of academic excellence. Specialization in statistics/computer science/engineering/finance/economics preferred.
Interest in Financial Markets & Data Analysis
Proficiency in SQL
Proficiency in software development (Matlab, R, Python, etc.)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products – Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Experience in working with large amounts of data and in developing actionable intelligence from the analysis
Thorough understanding of the financial markets and their implications on corporate performances
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Ability to think creatively and solve problems effectively
Entrepreneurial spirit
Being a self-starter, motivated and self-learner
